THE INVITATIONS!!!

So the invitations...this is a fun story. It all began on a spring day in March, we went to Target to buy invitations. I (Josh) went over to pick out some invitations to send out , and the first ones I went to were normal party invitations (Cassie says they were kid birthday party invitations:-p). Well I, being a guy, thought nothing of it and was like "hey it says your invited so let's pick those," mind you the invitations had balloons and confetti all over the card. Well it was Cassie and her sense of style that took us to a box set of invitations for weddings and things like that, so we sold our bone marrow to pay for them:-p...lol just kidding. We brought the invitations to Matt and Kristy's house late one night after Cassie got out of work and got started on writing down the sending and return address. After messing up four or five envelopes by writing wrong names and last names (Nana and Grandpa Bailey<--for Cassie's Grandparents, and writing Joshua and Bailey instead of Joshua and Cassandra) and having a few laughs along the way we finally got done with the addresses after over an hour of writing. We took a day or so off from writing to let our hands un-cramp and then we got started on the printing part of the invites. We had problems from the start. First it was the paper getting jammed in the printer and then things not looking the way we wanted them to look. We eventually got the printer working with the help of Matt (Cassie's Dad). The only thing was we couldn't print with the paper we wanted so we had to come up with a different style for the invites to look like. After we got that squared away we got the invites typed out and we were READY TO PRINT!!! We printed on all the paper we had and started tieing little bows on the top for decoration and put all the invites in their envelopes, licked and sealed them and had a few left over. Cassie and I went with her family to the Syracuse Crunch game and had a ball, or should I say puck lol...anyway we had fun and headed back to her house after the game. Cassie decided she wanted to check out the newly printed invites and the disaster we thought was behind us once again bouncing on our heads. The invitations were supposed to include a statement telling everyone to bring a dish to pass, and the big kicker was in the directions. WE FOUND A PAVILION!!! and it's the coolest place I think I've ever seen for a party. The directions on the invites will bring you to this location only if you remember one thing, the invites say Aerohead Lodge, notice the "AERO" in Aerohead...that is a spelling mistake, and a very creative one I might add. The actual name is Arrow Head Lodge, same pronounciation just speld like the band (Aerosmith) instead of the weapon (Arrow). Lot's of fun so far, and this is only the beginning:-D!!!

Marriage Scriptures

Well the engagement party has been pushed out to may because of breanna (Cassies little sister) has a birthday late April. We made out invitations together for the party and it was so much fun! This weekend we want to look at a few pavillions to have the BBQ engagement party at =)

So here are some marriage scriptures!

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Genesis 2:18, 21-24

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 12:4

He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord.

Proverbs 18:2

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Colossians 3:18-19

So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander.

1 Timothy 5:14

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

-Hebrews 13:4

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.
1 peter 3:7

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

1 Peter 2:25-3:2, 3:7

I thought those were some really good scriptures to read for any one who is married and for Josh and I to strive to be like as we will be getting married. I (Cassie) also think that Proverbs 31 is GREAT for ANY christian married woman/or not married to strive to be like as I do myself.
Thats all we have for today

How we got engaged!

I (josh) had the idea in my head to propose on June 19th 2009 (one year before we are getting married) but I had the ring and I couldn't wait anymore so I figured what better day to propose than on my 21st birthday, Cassie decided to take me out to dinner. I had bought an anklet for Cassie to match her outfit and I wanted to be the one to put it on her. While I was on my knee putting on the anklet I took Cassie's hand and simply said "Will you marry me?"
In my eyes (Cassie) I had nooo idea, I was taking my amazing man to dinner for his 21st birthday then I planned a surprise party after. So josh got down on one knee to put the ankle bracelet he bought me (I thought nothing of it) and then after he put it on he stayed down on the floor and i looked at him and said "why the heck are you still on the floor come sit with me" and he said no come closer, so i scootched foward and he brought the ring in front of me then I noticed he was teary eyed, and said "will you marry me" of course I said yes and squeeeezed his neck. After dinner when we got to the surprise party we made the announcement to all of our friends and family and then he grabbed his guitar and sang me a song he wrote me named "cassie baby" there was not a dry eye in the room. It was such a beautiful and emotional and eventful night!

HOW WE MET

Well Josh went back to school late and Cassie started college early and for that reason our journey together began. We first met at a B.A.S.I.C (brothers and sisters in Christ) meeting, 2 weeks before the Christmas party(December 2 2008) November 19 2008(we met). I (Cassie)was talking to Jenn while I (josh) was trying to get Cassie's attention. I (josh) thought Cassie was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen and wanted to talk to her, but after a couple minutes I THOUGHT she wasn't interested (obviously I was wrong:-D). While on the other hand I (Cassie) had a million things going through my mind when i met Josh, who is this guy, why haven't i met him yet, why is he so cute, i wonder if hes a strong believer or just checking out b.a.s.i.c, does he have a girlfriend, etc. Us woman always have millions of things running through our minds and trust me i was so nervous and shaking in my knees, and those of you who know me KNOW i do NOT get nervous. 2 weeks later at the Christmas party i brought my (maid of honor) Andrea! When we saw josh we discussed that he was the best looking guy in the room! He and I got to talking about why we're at OCC, and joked around about bath gloves that he received during white elephant gift exchange. Later that night as I(Cassie) was about to leave and I (Josh) was playing guitar Cassie said goodbye and told the last few people in the room to look her up on facebook(talking specifically to me:-D). So that night when I got back to my computer I immediately got on facebook and added Cassie as my friend. No more than 5 minutes went by and we were chatting on facebook. After a few minutes of talking Cassie had to go and gave me her phone number to text her, and gladly I agreed. (The reason I (Cassie) had to go was that my dad had an internet shut off time at 10 pm (mind you I was 16 at the time) so instead of making myself sound like a nerd I just gave him my cell phone number hoping he would call me, but he texted me within minutes). I (Josh), not knowing that Cassie was that interested in me, started texting with her back and forth for several hours(even though she had school and knew it was going to kill her). I was very persistent about hanging out with her because I wanted to get to know her better. My (Cassie) mom was parentnoid and didn't want me to ride in a car with someone she hadn't met and I barely knew so I declined his offers one after another after another, although I would've more than loved to go with him. We FINALLY got to hang out on a Friday after Cassie's art class and Josh had just recorded a CD Cassie wanted to hear (HE GAVE IT TO ME FOR FREE) so we made our way to the library where we put the cd into a computer and grabbed Cassie's head phones from her ipod to listen. As I (Cassie) listened i was sooo surprised it didn't sound anything like his actual voice and it was AMAZING, I expected it to be one of those people who "think" they sound good but didn't, in fact he was amazing but didn't give himself enough credit! We got to listening to the rest of the CD we decided to leave and go to "the bridge" to just talk and get to know each other. It was so much fun we were laughing the whole time talking about old stories and things we like then we started listening to my (Cassies) ipod and just hanging out. After a little while we started getting hungry so we decided to go to the cafe (as we were walking there josh does this little thing where he'll look at you quick and nearly give himself whip lash turning his head haha so when he did it i (cassie) picked on him a little then told him he was cute =]) When we approached the cafeteria josh asked me how old i thought he was, my response was 18 or 19 but what he said was shocking, he was 20 so then i got extremely quiet and said I don't think you want to guess my age nor do i think you'd get it right, so his guess was 18 or 19 as well and i tried to ignore the subject a little until i told him the truth, “i am 17...next month” is what I said. (I (Josh) was shocked, she didn't look or act like she was only 16, I think most of my issue was me caring what everyone else would think about me dating a 16 year old. I evevntually talked myself out of it and told myself it didn't matter to me and I was going for it. I called my mom and asked her this question "You know how when you go to college you expect everybody to be atleast 18?" and then told her that this wasn't the case:-D) I noticed he was a little quiet for about 10 minutes after that but then we continued on laughing and telling old stories of our lives. After a while we wanted to walk around some, so we explored the college and found this door that lead to the roof top of one of the school buildings and looked at scenery in the freezing cold winter day and then josh showed me some jeff dunham comedian stuff. The evening came so quickly and we talked for hours, at one point we just lost it, some guy was taking out the garbage and he was a little wierd and we just laughed and laughed about nothing. Then some janitor walked by telling us to go home and get a job and i looked at josh and said well if this is their job then that SUCKS! and we just laughed so hard! I had to leave for a church bible study where one of our mutual friends picked me up matching my first name with his last name and saying how we'd get married some day. I laughed and did not take her seriously at all as she was saying how i love him. I knew I wanted to be with him the moment he made me smile. Then as always as soon as I got home I ran to my moms bed and sat there talking to her forever about all that I did with Josh and how great he was and told her everything about him and how much I couldn't wait to see or talk to him again! I love remembering these things!!
For me (Josh) the day could've gone on for hours more, but I didn't want to overstay my welcome and decided to go home instead of tag along to the bible study. It was about an hour and a 45 minute drive and it was 7 pm and all I could talk about or think about was this amazing girl who crossed my path and I knew I wanted to spend more time with her. I immediatley called my mom and dad to tell them about my unbelievably amazing day. I then started imagining how perfect my life was about to become!!
That was the very first day we spent together (for 7 hours!!) and fell in love that day!
